Introduction of Module
The purpose of this module is to educate and assist students through the process of searching for a job. The module includes both a lecture type format, as well as activities to assist them in applying for jobs.
Learning objectives
- Students will understand the differences between looking for an academic and an industry job
- Students will understand what elements should be included in a resume and a cv
- Students will learn about different academic and industry job search engines.

- What were the different steps you took from the time you began looking until you got an offer?
- How did you know how to look for a job?
Course Materials
Summary
In this module, students reflected on the past jobs they had/the job they currently have and the steps they took to get their job. The PowerPoint slides used are listed in the module resources. Students were also asked to measure learning outcomes and used one of the suggested search engines to search for a job, and apply for a job they are interested in. It is important that students be equipped with the essential knowledge and tools to search and apply for careers in their field of interest.
