If you have trouble with a file -- especially when working with video. Try saving the file name as 8.3 (8 characters before the "." and 3 characters after the "." Example: file.avi
The longer the filename the more processing that is required by the computer.

 


 

To get a screen capture of a video -- I had to open the .wmv file in Premiere Elements, stop on the frame that you want to capture, Go to File Menu > Export > Frame. I then selected "settings" to change the file type.

   
 

If you are having problems activating Macromedia programs:
1) Unistall and Reinstall
2) go to macromedia.com/go/19468 and download and run the HotFix
3) go to macromedia.com/go/cleaner and download and run the Cleaner

   
 

To view file extensions in folders go to 'tools menu' > 'folder options' > 'view' tab >
uncheck the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types"

   
 
If you are having trouble getting a large file to print to Adobe Acrobat, try opening the file in Acrobat (create new PDF > from file) and then printing.

Adding two audio tracks in Sound Forge:
1) File > Properties > Format > change Channels to Stereo > Apply > Destination: select Left channel
2) Copy background > edit > paste special > overwrite
